There's always time to give a little back. That's why we regularly help the Ronald McDonald House here in Winston Salem.

The Ronald McDonald House of Winston Salem provides a "home away from home" for families of children who are receiving medical care in our community's hospitals. The house and Family Room programs offer physical comforts, emotional support, education, and referral services designed to promote the well-being of the whole family (from their website).

We have a group that helps prepare a meal once a month for the families staying at the house. Helping out with a meal is easy; you only have to contribute part of a meal. It can be a main dish, side dish, dessert, salad, or rolls. We just drop off our stuff and go. The families in the house come by later and serve themselves. They can save money and have a home cooked meal. Many families are away from their homes and support network for weeks and months at a time. This is a great way to help them out. We also have several fundraisers throughout the year to benefit the house. We have bake sales at the hospital which everyone can participate in by preparing baked goods. We donate all the proceeds we raise at the bake sale to the house. We have also helped the Ronald McDonald House by selling t-shirts for their 'Sport A Shirt, Share A Night' t-shirt fundraiser. We try to help out how we can and the people at the house are always so appreciative.
